I'm going to take a break from my writer persona to be a mom (and yeah, okay, there's not really much difference, just the name I call myself).
My son, Sam, earned his Eagle Scout award yesterday. Actually, he really earned it over the past 12 years, from the time he became a Tiger Cub as a first grader, but he had the official Board of Review last night, where a whole mess of adults put him in the hot seat and grilled him about his experiences as a Boy Scout.
And let me tell you...that was longer than most PhD dissertation defenses I've witnessed.
There will be a ceremony in a few months, but as of last night, he is officially the newest Eagle Scout of Troop 805.
WOOT!
HUGE congrats! My husband is the ultimate scout-- Eagle, Order of the Arrow, a Tiger Cub leader and a Cub Den Master, and he's on several councils. He's only 24 but he's been in scouts for 18 years already. We actually met through scouting--in Canada, boys and girls are allowed in scouts (not girl scouts), and we met 6 1/2 years ago in a jamboree in Jamaica lol.
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations to Sam and to you!
